Blue Ridge Handlebar Harness V1.5 (Old Stock)
- Description

- Behind the Name
These are Blue Ridge V1.5s left over when we launched the V2. If you're a taller rider then ordering one of these is a great way to save a few bucks on a premium handlebar harness! If you're a shorter rider, or average height with a suspension fork, then we recommend getting the V2 instead. The V2 has a new asymmetric shape that puts your dry bag in a better spot for tire clearance on smaller frames.
The Blue Ridge is our original CNC-machined handlebar harness (made right here in Flagstaff!). It holds a dry bag securely in place without any attachments to the head tube.
Design Features:
- Lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber construction
- Fits 31.8 and 35mm handlebars with included shims. Shims available for 22.2mm, and other sizes upon request.
- No head tube attachment!
- Integrated TPU Bridges to hold your straps in place
- Holds weight close to the handlebar for minimum flex
- Optional Straps: Ultralight TPU straps or even-lighter USA-made Austere Mfg Cam Buckle straps
| Weight (without straps) | 7.5oz / 205g |
| Load Limit (Road) | 12 lbs/5.5kg |
| Load Limit (Gravel or MTB w/suspension fork) | 10 lbs/3.5kg |
| Load Limit (Rigid MTB) | 8 lbs/2.5kg |
| Torque Specs |
12mm M4 bolts for attachment to carbon rods. These don't need much torque - just tighten until the bars don't slide. 18mm Torx M5 Buttonheads for the handlebar attachment - Torque to 5 nm or to handlebar specs - whatever is lower. Friction paste can be helpful to keep the harness from moving if your handlebars have a low torque spec. |
We've increased our max load limits somewhat after rigorous strength testing. But we still recommend limiting loads to 6 pounds in any handlebar harness for the best steering feel. Dense items are best carried in other places on the bike.
All of our bags are named after sections of the Arizona Trail, which runs within a mile of our workshop in Flagstaff.
Blue Ridge is a peaceful, forested section of the AZT that passes near the reservoir formerly known as Blue Ridge Reservoir (it's now called C.C. Cragin Reservoir, but the AZT still honors the old name).
If winter was wet enough, the reservoir provides much needed moisture in spring to parched AZT riders and hikers!
