Oracle Downtube Bag (Cosmetic Seconds)
4 in stock
Cosmetic Seconds: These Oracles have small cosmetic differences (mostly uneven/ugly bar tacks). The structure of the bag is unaffected.
How low can you go? When it comes to carrying weight on your bike, as low as possible is the right answer. The Oracle is made to fit on the bottom of your down tube, where the weight has the least effect on your handling. It’s a great place for tools, spare tubes, or other dense items. It only comes in black (but let’s face it, after your first day of wet riding it will be colored “mud”).
We designed the Oracle to stick to your bike with no movement whatsoever. Strategic use of non-slip fabric keeps it from sliding around, and the rolltop closure straps compress the bag into your down tube for the most secure possible attachment. It’s been tested on the gnarliest trails of Sedona with no movement as far as we could tell.
Large Capacity and Easy Access
Instead of an opening on the top of the bag, we made the Oracle with a side-opening rolltop. This is great for tools and other small items because it’s easy to see inside. Because we use Xpac construction for the bag, the interior is lined with a bright fabric and it’s easy to see your stuff.
The bag has 1.5 liters capacity and is highly water resistant. In this photo it’s packed with a pump, multi-tool, leatherman, 29er tube, extra bottle of sealant, tire levers and a small chain tool – with a bit of room left over!
Note: The bag is designed to fit on most mountain bikes. Most road bikes don’t have enough room for it to fit, and thin steel tubes don’t offer as much area for the straps to grip. If in doubt, send us a ruler photo like you’re ordering a frame bag and we’ll tell you if we think it will work. The dimensions are roughly 10x3x3 inches.
What’s in a Name?
Oracle Ridge is an infamous section of the Arizona Trail, known for hike-a-bike. It may not be Type 1 Fun, but the AZT wouldn’t be quite the same without it (it would probably be more rideable…).
